Simply put: if you have a pair of leather boots you love and want to last, cedar boot trees are a necessity. These trees are excellent. They are hinged to fit into any boot and do exactly what they are meant to do. Namely...
1) They help maintain the shape of the boot shaft,
2) The cedar absorbs sweat or other moisture to keep the leather from breaking down,
3) They keep the shaft from flopping over at the ankle when not in use, thus preventing the leather from cracking over time.
I use these in a pair of English Riding-esque boots. They work like a charm! Highly recommended!
