The Ball and Ring Cast Iron Bunion Stretcher is the ideal solution for people with bunion problems. It works for people that only need certain pressure points stretched in their footwear. For best results, we recommend clamping on the stretcher and leaving it overnight. Made of heavy duty steel. One size fits all.

This product is very helpful for expanding the toe space in leather shoes. I target the two front corners, where the big toe and the littlest toe touch the shoe. This prevents shoes from compressing the toes. I am a Certified Rolfer, so I do structural bodywork and movement education with my clients. I also teach a class on healthy footwear, based on the idea that are feet are designed to be barefoot and shoes actually cause many health problems. I encourage my clients to find shoes with a very flexible thin sole, no heel at all, and a toe box that is wide at the end of the toes. This tool helps some shoes work better with this model. For example, moccasins, which are often great except for a narrow toebox. (For more info, you can read a 2-page article at http://www.portlandrolfer.com)

My wife ordered this product, and she has only had it for 3 days, but it's a miracle worker for her. Previous to the Bunion Stretcher, she was forced to cut a small hole in her tennis shoe where the bunion is. Surgery is not an option she will consider at this time. After using the stretcher for just a couple hours on the tennis shoe, she was able to walk painlessly. She then left the stretcher on all night, and the shoe stayed stretched for the entire day. She still plans to stretch the shoe until the leather stays stretched. However, if she finds she needs to regularly or occasionally use the stretcher on the shoe, that's fine with her. She's enjoying pain-free walking in shoes without a hole.

I've been looking for one of these for 20 years since I worked in a "difficult to fit" shoe store. These aren't for bunions only - we used to call it a "spot" stretcher. Anywhere you have a place where the shoe rubs, you use this to ease that spot - heels, toes, instep, arches - the ball end is small so it can target little areas - these things are GREAT!
